Connect my smart TV or streaming device to the UIndy network

Specific instructions for finding that MAC address and registering these types of devices are provided below.

Smart TVs

Most smart TVs MAC addresses can be found in the Settings menu. Once you have obtained your console's MAC address you will need to register it on to the UIndyIoT Network by following the directions listed in Manage personal devices on the UIndy and UIndyIoT networks.

Amazon Fire TV Stick

Find the Mac address for your Amazon Fire TV Stick

  1. Connect your Amazon Fire TV stick into the TV.
  1. On your Amazon Fire TV Stick navigate to the system's Settings using the provided remote.
  2. Select My Fire TV.

  1. Select About.
  2. Select Network.
  3. The MAC address can be found as the last item listed on the right. Make note the MAC address and save it for later.

  1. Disconnect and unplug the Amazon Fire TV Stick from the TV and wall outlet.
  2. Once you have obtained your console's MAC address you will need to register it on to the UIndyIoT Network by following the directions listed in Manage personal devices on the UIndy and UIndyIoT networks.
AppleTV

Find the Mac address for your Apple TV

  1. Connect your Apple TV to your TV with an HDMI cable.
  1. Using your Apple TV remote, navigate to the Settings app.
  2. Click Network.
  3. Make note of the MAC address (e.g. xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx) shown on screen. It will be listed as the Wi-Fi Address (for wireless connection) or Ethernet Address (for wired connection).
  4. Once you have obtained your console's MAC address you will need to register it on to the UIndyIoT Network by following the directions listed in Manage personal devices on the UIndy and UIndyIoT networks.
Roku

Find the Mac address on your Roku

  1. Connect your Roku to your TV with an HDMI cable.
  1. On the Let's get started screen, use the Roku remote chose a language.
  2. You will be redirected to the Choose your networkscreen, navigate to the Private network option.
  3. Make note of the wireless MAC address (e.g. xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx) shown on screen.
  4. Once you have obtained your console's MAC address you will need to register it on to the UIndyIoT Network by following the directions listed in Manage personal devices on the UIndy and UIndyIoT networks.
