Use Duo Verified Push

Duo Verified Push is a more secure version of Duo Push that requires users to enter a unique three-digit code to confirm a login attempt.

To use Duo Verified Push, you will need to have the Duo Mobile App installed on your mobile device. You likely already have this installed using Duo Push authentication. If by some chance you do not have the Duo Mobile App, please download it from the App Store or Google Play.

Beginning 10/28/25: If you typically use the Duo Push method when logging in to a UIndy service, the Duo browser prompt will now include a three-digit verification code. Users using SMS Passcodes or a Hardware Token are not affected by this change, however, phone call verification will no longer be available.

Like Duo Push, when you login to a UIndy system you will be sent a Duo notification on your mobile device. On your mobile device:

  1. Open the Duo Mobile App, you will be prompted to enter a 3-digit verification code that is on your other device’s login screen.

You will still be able to enter the verification code on your Apple Watch to accept a push.

  • Type:If you are presented with a full QWERTY keyboard, note that it may be challenging to input the code.
  • Sketch:Use your finger to sketch each digit of the code in the designated area below the Reply field. You may need to tap "scribble" to have the option to sketch the code.
  • Dictate:The microphone icon can be tapped to speak the code aloud for it to be transcribed.

You'll only see the Duo request on your watch when your phone is locked. Notifications won't go to your Apple Watch when your phone is unlocked.
