Report phishing in Gmail and spam in Google Calendar
It is important that when you experience a phishing attempt in an email that you report the email to Google. This will allow Google to take the appropriate security measures for you and other users. Navigate to the following webpage from Google's Help Center for instructions to Avoid and report phishing emails.
If you have shared your UIndy password, other personal information, or made a purchase, you will need to change your UIndy password immediately.
It is important if you bought gift cards or installed software because of a phishing attempt, that you contact the UIndy IT Help Desk by submitting a IT Help Desk ticket or calling (317) 788-3318.
- Open the email you want to report.
- Click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the suspected email.
- Click Report phishing.
- Click Report Phishing Message.
If you notice a suspicious invitation or event on your calendar, report it as spam.
- Open the Event.
- Click the three vertical dots (Options) menu in the top right.
- Select Report as spam (typically the last option in the drop-down menu).
