Connect my Amazon Echo or Dot
If your device is capable of casting or screen mirroring, make sure it's pass-code protected.
- Download the Amazon Alexa app to your phone or computer and sign in with your Amazon account.
- Connect to the wireless network transmitted by your Echo device.
- The wireless MAC address for your Echo can be found at the bottom of the Echo Setup screen in the Alexa app.
- Using another device that has UIndy internet connectivity, navigate to https://mydevices.uindy.edu
- Enter your UIndy credentials and click the Log in button.
- Register the Amazon Echo by entering the
MAC address
you obtained earlier in step 3. - Enter the
Device Name
. - Optionally, enter
notes
about the device. - Check the box next to I am the sponsor of this account and accept the terms of use.
- Click the Create button.
- A receipt of the registration will appear. Make note of the Current Password.
- Reconnect and plug in the Amazon Echo.
- Select the UIndyIoT network.
- Enter the password from step 11.
This password is NOT your UIndy account password. This is a unique Wi-Fi password for this device. See Find my UIndy IoT network password.
- Follow the prompts to complete setup.
