Communiversity Course Enrollees

Communiversity is an online, book-club-style course that is open to everyone — alumni, current students and community members alike. The course takes place throughout the semester and includes lectures and online discussions about the course’s book of focus. The course is held completely online (although, if desired, students can attend most lectures in person), and with manageable weekly readings and online discussions, the course is designed to fit into busy schedules. Register For Communiversity Course
Current UIndy students

Register for this course as you would for any UIndy course using your UIndy account.  

UIndy faculty, staff, or emeriti
  1. Navigate to https://store.uindy.edu.
  2. Click on the red View Courses button.

  1. Browse through the course options. Click on View Course for more details about the course and to Enroll.

  1. Click on the Enroll button (or Join Waiting List button if applicable).

  1. In the Already Registered? box, click on the Login button.

  1. On the Welcome to University of Indianapolis page, under the Username/Password login box, click on the link sign into your UIndy account instead

  1. You will be redirected to the UIndy login page. Enter your UIndy credentials (you may have to authenticate with Duo, as well).

A "would you like to proceed" prompt may appear if you have never been a student or instructor in the University's learning management system, Brightspace.  If the prompt appears: 

  1. Check the box next to Do not ask me again for this application.
  2. Click the Continue button.

  1. On the Checkout page, complete the Invoice Details and Important Information, as required. Please note: all fields with an * are required.
  2. Click the Proceed button at the bottom of the page.

  1. If you did not have a Voucher code, on the Payment Information page, select the appropriate option next to Payment Method from the drop-down menu. Please note: all fields with an * are required.
  2. Click the Continue button.

  1. Navigate to https://store.uindy.edu.
  2. Click on the red View Courses button.

Have you taken a Sease Institute course in Fall 2024 or after and have registered for a Brightspace personal account?

Login as already registered
  1. In the Already Registered? box, click the Login button.

  1. Enter your personal Username and Password that you created.
  2. Click the Log in button.

Create Account for new learner
  1. In the Are you a New Learner? box, click on the Create Account button.

  2. Click the Create Account button.

Access your Communiversity Course
Current UIndy students

Navigate to brightspace.uindy.edu and log in with your UIndy email and password. 

UIndy faculty, staff, or emeriti

Navigate to brightspace.uindy.edu and log in with your UIndy email and password. 

Other registrants

Navigate to brightspace.uindy.edu/d2l/local and log in with your personal email address and password you used when you created your account.

Troubleshooting

Issue: You've clicked on brightspace.uindy.edu/d2l/local and can't log in

Each of the steps listed below are available, not all of them may need to be completed. If the first step doesn't work, progress to the next step.

  1. Verify you've entered the correct email and password that was created in steps 6-7 of registering.
  2. Clear your browser cookies and history.
  3. Try a new browser window in incognito mode.
  4. Reset your Sease Institute - Brightspace password.

Your Communiversity course in Brightspace won't be available until the first day of the semester.
