Use projectors
Several classroom and meeting spaces are equipped with projectors that are able to display the screen of a device. The following article is designed to guide users though the process of using projectors.
Connect to a projector
- Choose and complete the relevant option:
- Turn on the teaching station computer.
- Connect a laptop using an HDMI cable. Depending on the laptop make and model, an adapter may be needed. HDMI cables and Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters are provided in classrooms. Newer Mac laptops require a USB-C to HDMI adapter which are not provided in classrooms.
- Connect a laptop using wireless presentation, if enabled.
- Press the ON button located on the control panel to warm up the projector. This will cause the ON button to flash repeatedly.
- When the ON button has stopped flashing, press the relevant option:
- Press the PC button to use a teaching station.
- Press the Laptop button to use your laptop (via an HDMI cord when not other wise indicated on the control panel).
- Press the HDMI button that correlates with the numbered port to which the HDMI cord is connected (e.g. HDMI 1, HDMI 2)
- Press the WIPS button for wireless presentation, if enabled.
- When you are finished projecting, press the OFF button on the control panel.
