Office 365 OneDrive Storage
By default, web-based versions of Office 365 apps (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) files are saved on OneDrive.
Installed versions of Office 365 apps (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) files can be saved at the location of your choosing, we recommend Google Drive.
Use of OneDrive for storage of University information or data is not supported or recommended by Information Technology. Google Drive is the only approved cloud storage product for University data.
Access to your free Office 365 account is provided as a part of the campus Microsoft license. As such, these accounts are not “personal accounts” and access to Office 365, OneDrive and the data contained therein are linked to your UIndy account.
- UIndy employees will lose access to their free UIndy Office 365 account on their last day worked.
- Students will lose access to their free UIndy Office 365 one year after their last date of enrollment.
Download content out of OneDrive
You can download files and folders from OneDrive or SharePoint Online to your computer with just a few clicks.
- On your OneDrive or SharePoint Online website, select the file or folders you want to download by clicking on the radio button next to file/document.
- Select Download.
- If your browser prompts you, choose Save or Save As and browse to the location where you want to save the download. Some browsers just start saving right away to a Downloads folder on your computer.
If you’re in a folder and you select Download without selecting any files or folders, your browser will begin downloading all contents of the folder.
