Troubleshoot projection for Macs on Monterey & Ventura
This article is designed to help you troubleshoot any issues that may arise when trying to project from a Mac on Monterey or Ventura.
Things to make note of when connecting HDMI to Macs:
- Turn on computer first before connecting HDMI cable
- Make sure HDMI cable is properly connected to the correct port on computer
- Make sure HDMI is connected firmly to the wall (not loosely connected)
If images look blurry/small/no images appear
- Navigate to the System Preferences.
- Click on Displays.
- Make sure that Mirror for Built-in Liquid Retina XDR Display is selected (please note if you're using an older mac it may not be exactly the same).
- Make sure optimized for is selected for the name of your computer. For example, if “computer001” is the name of this computer, optimize for “computer001" will need to be listed.
- Make sure the Color Profile is Extron HDMI if it’s not, from the drop down menu, select Extron HDMI.
- Make sure Resolution is on Default for display.
- If Default for display does not work. You may have a couple of resolution options under scaled. If you are still not getting any type of image, you can try lowering the resolution.
If none of these options work:
- try a fresh restart of the computer and try to connect the HDMI again
