Reset your laptop

The laptop system contains a small reset hole on the base that can be used if they become non responsive. The reset hole can be used for the following situations:

Will not power on, either on battery or AC power

Try connecting AC power first to see if the unit powers on. If the unit does not run, disconnect the AC adapter and then put a straightened paper clip into the reset hole and depress the switch for a few seconds. Try reconnecting AC power and the system should power on again at that point. If the system does not power on using either AC power or after using the reset hole, it should be serviced.

Will not power down using either the operating system or the power switch

Press and hold the power button for a few seconds. If the computer does not respond, remove AC power, and put a straightened paper clip into the reset hole and depress the switch. The unit should power off.

Will not resume from standby

Press and hold the power button for a few seconds. If the computer does not respond, remove AC power, and put a straightened paper clip into the reset hole and depress the switch. The unit should power off.
